The Kentish Town Planning Framework was adopted on the 17th July 2020.
The framework sets out a vision and key aims for this area of the borough as an innovative and sustainable mixed-use new neighbourhood. Kentish Town will have industrial, commercial and creative activity, provided alongside high-quality homes that support a diverse local community.
It is a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) designed to support the Camden Local Plan aims and policies. It will also guide future development proposals in the area and can be used as a material consideration in the assessment of planning applications.
What happens next?
The Camden Local Plan and the Kentish Town Planning Framework call for a comprehensive and coordinated approach to development in the planning framework area.
Camden worked with the Greater London Authority (GLA) to explore ideas for the Regis Road growth area and have had discussions with landowners about potential collaboration in bringing redevelopment forward.
In 2022, the Council agreed to take a more proactive approach to making the development happen. View the latest on the Regis Road Growth Area
