Help and support if you've recently arrived from Afghanistan

If you have recently come to Camden from Afghanistan, here are some services you can access to help you settle in. 

Benefits

Finding a job 

If you need support with finding a job, you can get help from our Job Hub. 

Learning English 

If you want to learn English, you can find an English class with Camden’s English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) advice service. 

Education 

If you need to apply for a school place for your children, you can find out more about primary, secondary and in-year school admissions. 

If your child has special educational needs, you can get help to find them a school placement. 

Find courses and opportunities for learning with Adult Community Learning. 

Health 

Register with a GP to access health services.

If you are struggling with your mental health there is support available for adults, children and young people. 

Family reunification 

You can make an application to be reunited with your family who are outside of the UK if: 

• you are a refugee 
• you have 5 years humanitarian protection or settlement on protection grounds in the UK
