Staying safe at night

Find the Camden Safety Bus

The Camden Safety Bus is a safe space for people who are out in Camden Town on a Friday or Saturday night. This includes women and girls who often don’t feel safe or have experienced harassment or inappropriate behaviour.

The stationary bus is available on Friday and Saturday nights between 9.30pm and 2.30am.  It is parked outside of Camden Town Tube station. You can come directly to the bus, or call during the opening hours on 07946 578 608 if you need help or advice.

What we provide

Trained officers are available if you need someone to talk to. They can also direct you to relevant services.

You can also:

  • charge your phone
  • get water
  • receive first aid

Give your feedback

We’re keen to hear your feedback if you have received support from the Safety Bus officers. This helps our Community Safety Team to continue to improve safety for everyone, particularly women and girls. The feedback form is anonymous and takes less than 2 minutes to complete.

Look out for the Safe Haven logo

Safe Havens are local businesses that can help by:

  • providing a friendly face and reassurance
  • calling the police or family or friends
  • giving you directions or public transport information

Look out for the Safe Haven logo in the window of local businesses.

Ask for Angela

If you need to escape a difficult situation you should speak to a member of staff in a Safe Haven. If you are with the person who is making you feel uncomfortable then you can ‘Ask for Angela’. This is a national scheme that helps anyone who is feeling vulnerable on a night out to get the support they need.

Express interest in becoming a Safe Haven

If you are a licensed premise interested in becoming a Safe Haven space you can find out more on our Safe Haven page
