Sports education and training programme

The deadline for applications is 30 July 2024.

The Sports Education and Training Programme is an amazing opportunity for young people aged 16 to 19 years old.  It is a unique programme for young people who have a desire to pursue careers in sport and physical activity.

The Sport Education and Training Programme is for young people who want a career in sports and physical activity. Graduates can achieve a:

  • level 2 certificate of activity leadership
  • level 3 diploma in Sports Development
  • BTEC Level 3 Sports Coaching extended certificate.

Many students in the programme go on to paid employment as sports coaches, play workers, fitness instructors and teaching assistants. The programme can also lead to a university place on a coaching or teaching related courses.

Students can also resit GCSE Maths and English or begin their functional skills in Maths and English Qualifications.

The programme also provides an opportunity to gain national governing body coaching qualifications in various sports. Students can also participate in work placements with the Camden Sports Development Team or local partners.

How to apply

You can find out more about how you can join the Level 2 and 3 courses from LaSwap Sixth Form where students are taught.
