Sheltered Housing Forum

This is the improved Camden website. Tell us what you think.

Sheltered Housing Forum

The Sheltered Housing Forum represents the interests of sheltered housing residents. This includes:

  • suggesting ways to make the sheltered housing service better
  • commenting on new plans and changes to the service
  • influencing housing policies that affect sheltered housing residents

Forum members

The forum has:

  • up to 2 resident representatives from each sheltered housing site with less than 35 homes
  • up to 3 resident representatives from each sheltered housing site with more than 35 homes
  • 3 officers from the Sheltered Housing Service

The forum is co-chaired by the Older People’s Champion, who is usually a councillor.

How to join

Resident representatives are elected every two years.

Sheltered housing residents can nominate a representative for their site, including themselves. This is followed by an election by secret ballot.

Forum meetings

The forum meets every three months, with an extra meeting in December. At least 6 resident representatives and 2 Camden Council officers must be there for a meeting to happen.
