Report antisocial behaviour

Antisocial behaviour (ASB) is defined as behaviour which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not in the same household.

What we expect from residents

We expect all residents to:

  • show consideration for neighbours
  • follow tenancy conditions or lease agreements
  • report incidents of antisocial behaviour

What should be reported

You should report any behaviour that makes you feel unsafe, or you feel may make others unsafe. This includes:

  • drug-related ASB such as drug use or dealing
  • youth-related ASB and suspected gang activity
  • threatening behaviour, verbal and physical threats and abuse
  • vandalism and property damage.
  • using a property to sell drugs or for any other illegal activity
  • harassment including incidents based on race, gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation
  • dog-related ASB
  • graffiti or flyposting such as sticking posters on walls and other public property
  • littering or fly-tipping from an individual, business or vehicle on the streets, pavements or green spaces

If you are reporting street cleaning issues

If you need to report any dumped rubbish to be cleared or another street cleaning issue use the Love Clean Streets app.

If you are reporting domestic abuse or sexual violence

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse or sexual violence then contact Camden Safety Net.

Report antisocial behaviour

Phone: 020 7974 4444 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

If you're a Camden Council tenant or leaseholder and antisocial behaviour happens on your estate between 4pm and 4am, call us on 020 7974 4444 and ask to be put through to the Responsive Security Patrol.

What happens next

We log your report and assign a case officer. You will receive an email with the case officer's contact details and a reference number, which you can use for future correspondence. The email may take up to 48 hours to arrive.

Following this we aim to:

  • contact you within 7 working days
  • carry out a risk assessment with your safety in mind
  • complete an ASB action plan with you
  • investigate the report and review the evidence objectively
  • put in place any reasonable adjustments needed and offer you support
  • work with the Police or other agencies where needed

The case officer will consider

  • how serious your complaint is
  • how often the problem has occurred
  • whether there have been other complaints about the ASB

We will contact you regularly and let you know what we are doing to resolve the problem. We may send warning letters or create Acceptable Behaviour Contracts. In some cases, if the ASB is very serious or previous actions haven’t worked, we may take legal action.
