Community safety team

The Community Safety teams work together to collectively implement and deliver initiatives that help all areas of Camden become a safe place to live, work and visit.

The Partnership Information Hub

The Partnership Analysts collate and analyse data to inform operational and strategic decisions. They create reports and presentations that summarise findings, trends and recommendations related to Community Safety. These reports maybe be shared with council members, stakeholders, enforcement agencies and the public.

ASB Team (CSOs & ASBOs)

We have team of Community Safety Officers dedicated to specific ward areas. In addition to this, as part of an ASB taskforce pilot, Community Safety have introduced Antisocial Behaviour Officers. Both their work includes investigating reports of ASB, identifying appropriate interventions to resolve issues in partnership with internal and external agencies. 

Community Safety Enforcement Officers (CSEOs)

The CSEOs are a street based team tasked with addressing ASB, crime prevention and environmental enforcement. CSEOs provide daily high visibility patrols working with residents and stakeholders to engage, gather intelligence and enforce in order to make a safer and cleaner Camden for our communities.

Camden’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP)

Camden’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP) is a statutory body under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The partnership co-ordinate community safety activity in Camden at a strategic level; to reduce crime and the fear of crime, to address the risk, threat and harm to victims and local communities, and also to facilitate the strengthening of Camden’s communities in the delivery of local initiatives.
The CSP is made up of a number of partners, including those from statutory bodies such as the Metropolitan Police Service, London Fire Brigade, Probation Service and Health Partners. The Community Safety Partnership Board meet regularly and in March 2024 they agreed our strategic priorities for the next three years. 

The priorities for 2024/25 are:

  • Drug Related Activity
  • Antisocial Behaviour
  • No Place For Hate
  • Women's Safety
  • Serious Violence

The priorities are reviewed on a yearly basis to assess the needs of the borough.

Camden Community Safety Partnership Plan (2024 – 2027)  

The Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Plan sets out how we will work collaboratively across all partner agencies to make Camden a safer place to live, work and visit. The plan has been developed in response to crime, antisocial behaviour, substance misuse and re-offending statistics, and the concerns of local people.

To achieve the priorities outlined in the CSP Plan, the Camden CSP has established a structure that brings together partners at a strategic, performance and operational level. The plan will be implemented by the CSP subgroups, which bring together key partners to support the delivery of local priorities.  

The plan is reviewed annually during its term. This is to allow the CSP the opportunity to review the performance from the latest annual strategic assessment and to ensure that they target partnership resources at emerging local priorities. By working in partnership across the CSP and with our communities, we aim to make Camden a safer place for all.
