Christmas tree recycling
Our Christmas tree recycling points are now closed, and the City of London are not collecting Christmas trees on Hampstead Heath again this year. Please do not leave trees our streets at the boundary of the park.
You can still take your tree to Regis Road Reuse and Recycling Centre
Dumping your Christmas tree on the street is illegal and can make it difficult for people to get by safely. You may be fined £1000 for for fly-tipping.
Other ways to get rid of Christmas trees
Trees can also be collected:
-
as part of our garden waste subscription service, if cut to fit in your garden waste bin or bags - in our bulky waste (large item) collection service, charges may apply
Many Christmas tree sellers provide a take-back service.
If you have the space, you can buy a living tree in a pot that you can plant in your garden or keep for next year.
The North London Waste Authority website has more ways to save money and reduce waste at Christmas.
