A circular economy is where things we no longer need or want are:
- repaired
- reused
- shared
- traded
This helps our community and reduces waste.
Find out more and get involved in the circular economy in Somers Town and at Charlton st market.
If you or your organisation are interested in reusing things that would otherwise go to waste, you can register your interest on the North London Waste Authority (NWLA) website.
There are many ways to reduce your household waste, and organisations that can help:
Repairing
Instead of throwing something away, try to repair it first

- reuse household containers by refilling them at Refill Station Camden
- reduce single use plastic with Refill London
- reduce period product waste with reusable period products
- reduce single use nappy waste by trying out reusable nappies
- reuse and donate paint in your community with the community paint reuse scheme
Sell or donate
Items you no longer want that are in good condition can be sold or donated. You can also donate food that can’t be sold but can still be eaten.
- donate to Lifeafterhummus, a Camden food bank and reuse centre for the community
- donate reusable furniture to The British Heart Foundation or Sue Ryder
