Activities for children under 5 years old

There is a range of activities at Talacre Community Sport Centre for children aged 5 and under including:

  • gymnastics
  • football
  • mini tennis
  • soft play

Parent and toddler gymnastics (0 to 4 years)

Parent and toddler sessions are the perfect introduction to gymnastics for your children. These sessions provide a free play environment, supervised by parents with our gymnastics staff overseeing the session.

There are two sessions a day Monday to Friday:

  • Session 1: 9.30 to 10.15am
  • Session 2: 10:30 to 11:30am

 Pre-school gymnastics (3 to 4 years)

The structured sessions in a fun and safe environment provide an early introduction to gymnastics. Children will experience a range of gymnastic equipment, including soft play and trampolines. Sessions are led by a British Gymnastics qualified team. Children can work towards achieving their first gymnastic badge in the summer term.

Your child must be aged 3 to 4 years at the start of the term to take part in the sessions.

There are weekly sessions on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Tuesday:

  • Session 1:  1 to 1.45pm
  • Session 2:  1.45 to 2.30pm
  • Session 3: 2.30 to 3.15pm

Thursday:

  • Session 1: 1 to 1.45pm
  • Session 2: 1.45 to 2.30pm
  • Session 3: 2.30 to 3.15pm

 Friday:

  • Session1: 1 to 1.45pm
  • Session 2: 1.45 to 2.30pm

Pre-school gymnastic sessions are booked for a whole term.

Football

Children aged 3 to 6 years old can play a range of fun football based games and training to improve their football skills. Sessions are held during term time and led by qualified Football Association (FA) coaches. There are different sessions for different ages groups:

4 to 6 years old
Monday: 4 to 5pm

3 to 4 years old
Saturday: 10 to 10.50am

4 to 5 years old
Saturday: 11am to 12pm

Prices vary depending on what kind of Better membership you have. Non-members can also book sessions.

Mini tennis

Children aged 4 to 7 years old can play a range of fun tennis based games and training to improve their mini tennis skills. Sessions are held during term time and led by qualified Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) coaches.

Monday: 5 to 6pm
Friday: 4 to 5pm

Soft play

Soft play rascals

Swiss Cottage Better Leisure Centre Fun soft play environment complete with a maze of slides, tunnels, ball pits and swings for children up to the age of 11 years old.

Drop-in sessions are from 9am to 6pm on Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm at weekends.

You can book online or in person at Swiss Cottage leisure centre.

Treetops soft play

Treetops soft play gives children the freedom to play and use their imagination in a specially-built maze of ball pits, slides and rope swings.

Drop-in sessions are available throughout the week. Sessions are from 9am to 6pm on Monday to Friday, and 9am to 2pm at the weekend.
